Nice local steakhouse in the Woodlands with a casual atmosphere. They have a nice selection of bourbon and their calamari was delicious. My first ribeye was full of fat and grisly, however their management was great and prepared a new one quickly. The second ribeye was very juicy with great flavor. Overall we enjoyed our meals.

We went to The Refuge Steakhouse & Bourbon Bar to celebrate a birthday and had a truly wonderful time. We were a group of four and ordered the REFUGE EXPERIENCE – The Butcher's Table, which features New York Strip Steak, Filet Mignon, Pork Chop, Whiskey-Glazed Pork Belly, Bacon-Wrapped Scallops, Potato Swiss Fondue, and Grilled Asparagus — thoughtfully curated for parties of four. It ended up being the perfect choice: generous portions, beautifully presented dishes, and everything cooked to perfection. We even saved a little room for dessert, which the team kindly offered on the house in honor of the birthday — a gesture we genuinely appreciated. The ladies shared a bottle of Eight Years in the Desert, a bold blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel with deep berry notes that paired effortlessly with our meal. The owner stopped by our table, chatted with us about the wine, and shared its story — such an interesting and unexpected touch that made the evening feel even more special. Meanwhile, the gents enjoyed whiskey flights — and judging by their smiles, they definitely approved. Thanks for a memorable evening!

We came here for a big group birthday dinner. The atmosphere was nice, especially with the lights dimmed for dinner, food was okay. I had the red snapper with asparagus (cold). Somehow, the plate also came out with shrimp with wrapped bacon ( did not ask for) and was charged an additional $36 for it.( didn’t make a fuss as it was big group) If I decide to come back, it would probably be just for a cocktail as they did look good! Update: Added back a star because you can’t beat management taking accountability. Will stop by again soon to update ;)

We held my mother‘s 70th birthday party here and as usual great service. The sides for our meal for most of our party were a tad cool but the service was phenomenal. We did have reservations, but unfortunately did have to wait for probably about 30 minutes after our reservation time. Which was not the greatest given We had 12 people standing around waiting, but I would still recommend the refuge. The food and services are always great.

My husband and I just celebrated our 21st anniversary and were looking for a nice place to have dinner, being that we’re new to the area. The first thing we noticed, was that upon arrival, the hostesses were friendly and seated us promptly. Right away we were impressed by the decor and intimate atmosphere. The wait staff were very attentive. We were actually greeted a couple times by an elderly gentleman, which I’m assuming is the owner or in upper management. To say the food was outstanding, is an understatement. We savored every bite. The reason I didn’t give five stars was because when our waiter gave us our drink menu he stood by the table and without giving us the chance to open it up and look at the drink options, he recommended an old-fashioned for my husband. My husband took the waiters recommendation, as he’s ordered them in many restaurants before. After ordering the drink, our waiter took the drink menu, returned with our entrees, and then asked, more so encouraged him to have one more. This was not bad in it of itself. However, when we got our bill, we saw that each old old-fashioned, which was heightened in volume by a huge piece of ice, cost us $30 a piece. It’s not that we’re cheap. We love eating out and we’re expecting to pay at least $200. It’s that we felt our waiter was being a bit deceptive in trying to advertise or suggest an item to a first time patron, without being giving us the privacy to look over the menu and prices. We will definitely go back, but will have to make sure and let our waiter know we’d like to look over the menu ourselves, in privacy before placing our order.

We had dinner here tonight for our anniversary, our waitress and the staff were amazing. She was so helpful on making sure we knew about all the amazing options to choose from and also blessed us with some really good banana bread pudding for dessert. We ordered the steak flight for dinner and the steak was cooked to perfection! Highly recommend dining here! Thank you for making our wedding anniversary dinner special!

This is now one of my favorite restaurants! We went for my husbands birthday and it was a great experience! Great service, comfortable and elevated atmosphere. All The food was cooked perfectly. I ordered the burger (medium rare) and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. I had a taste of my husbands steak as well and it was delicious, he had the chimichurri sauce that was so flavorful. They have wonderful salads and deserts as well. I definitely recommend making a reservation if you have a larger party. If you are a whiskey lover you have to try the "True Love first kiss" it's amazing. You can also purchase a bottle of their whiskey! I 10/10 recommend!

I made a reservation online and we showed up a bit early. Table was ready in a few minutes but we decided to sit at the bar. Caney was our bartender and server. She made excellent drinks and we had a nice pleasant conversation. The NY strip 14 oz steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. My daughter’s steak, the 6 oz filet was cooked perfectly to her liking. The bourbon selection is excellent. I had an Eagle Rare 10 year and it was smooth and delicious. I ordered it neat as I like to taste of the full strength not watered down. Excellent experience.
